Creativity in Crafting

Craft is defined as "1. skill in making things especially with the hands;  2. an occupation or trade requiring skill with the hands or as an artist." (ref. Merriam-Webster)
The arts are important for a multitude of reasons - economic benefits, healthcare and healing, education, etc.  Participating in arts and crafts touches the creativity that lives in every person.  That creativity can be therapeutic, relaxing, inspiring and fun.   These types of projects are also fun to teach.

This was my Mother's rolling pin.  I have fond memories of this cooking tool throughout my childhood and even used it when Mama taught me how to cook.  It is now a cherished memento.
