Lantern Parade

Lantern Parades are quite popular in many communities. This is an event where you don't sit and watch the parade, YOU are the parade. A Lantern Parade is where every person can give back to their community.  What makes the event so much fun is you don't have to be an artist to create a lantern - anyone can do it.  Also, there are no age restrictions for the Lantern Parade.
In 2017, I organized the first Lantern Parade in the county where I reside.  It was held at the town's annual Christmas Celebration.  I held workshops where those who wanted to participate could learn how to create their lantern. It was fun to see all the different ideas and designs and watch as each person carefully crafted their lantern.  However, what was most rewarding was seeing the Lantern Parade come to life.  The path we take for the Lantern Parade is around a beautiful lake.  It is absolutely gorgeous to watch the lanterns all glowing in the darkness of night and see the reflections in the lake.

At the end of the evening, exhausted and excited. Yet thrilled for the creativity that is displayed.  This is a great event for the community and lots of fun to coordinate.
